Jayleigh's Two Month Photos

Oh my goodness. Where does all of the time go? Seriously, I am almost 2 weeks late posting Jayleigh's 2 month photos...which means she's 2 1/2 months old! What?!! Anyways, this past month (and a 1/2...) has been a lot more fun than the first month! I love newborns, don't get me wrong, but I also love sleep! Just in the past couple of weeks I think we've finally gotten Jayleigh's nights and days straightened out! She still has her moments, but for the most part, she only wakes up once during the night! Sweet! And with Daddy home from his work travels, it makes it that much easier! I nurse...he gives her the bottle...we're all happy! :)

Darron says, "she's a lot more fun now," that she smiles and giggles and is more awake and aware! She's half giggled a few times, but we've both been trying to get her to actually laugh, and she finally did it a couple of nights ago! It's the sweetest sound ever and seriously brings tears to my eyes every time! This adorable little person is growing up so fast! We just love talking and playing with her and making her smile and laugh! Good times! I just love our sweet little family!!! :D

So what else has happened in the past month and a half... Well we had Thanksgiving at Darron's Uncle Glen & Aunt Anneta's place (also where the Marysville convention is), and then Darron's mom, Joyce, came back home with us to stay for a week while Darron was gone. He left the Monday after Thanksgiving to work near Salt Lake City for two weeks...we missed him terribly!! And the week before Thanksgiving he was out there also, and coincidentally that was the same week I went back to work, so that was not a fun week for our family. I enjoy my work, and I'm glad my baby is cared for by family, but it's so hard to leave her every morning! And I think it gets more and more difficult the older she gets because she's more aware...and she watches me leave...so hard!! But we make up for the missed cuddles and kisses in the evenings, so that's extra special! :)

Anyways...other than that, we've just been busy living and enjoying life. So without further ado...I give you Jayleigh's two month pictures... (just as a note...it was incredibly hard to pick just a few to post here!)...

At Jayleigh's 2 month checkup, she was 10 lbs & 22.6" long. She was in the 40th percentile for weight and 70th for length. She seems to be longer now than she was 2 weeks ago even...long and thin, just like Daddy :) She also has Daddy's long fingers! I know it's too early to tell, but we're thinking this little girl might be tall! Or at least surpass Mommy...but that's not hard to do ;)

This last picture of her sucking on her fingers is a common sight...when she can find them, she uses her own fingers to self-soothe, but she also likes her binkies :) Btw, this adorable outfit was the very first one I bought, the very day we found out we were having a girl! :)

Well, I will try to get some pictures of family up soon... Thanks for stopping by! :)

Jayleigh Is One Month Old!

Wow! Where did the time go?? I can't believe Jayleigh is already one month! This month has flown by so fast it's like a blur! We've had our share of sleepless nights, diaper blowouts, and spit up...but we've also enjoyed every cuddle and smile that came with all of that! Sweet baby girl is cuddling with me as I write this...and snoring ;)
Life as a mommy is different than I expected...although I don't really fully know what I expected, to be honest. It's both harder and better than I ever could have imagined, and I love it! I look at her sweet face and wonder what we ever did to deserve such a perfect little sweetheart, but I am so thankful that God blessed us with her! Here are some pictures of our Jayleigh Mae over the past month...

In the hospital, one day old
(Random thought...this outfit is puzzling...it has giraffes and elephants and...ducks? What?!)

And her official one month pictures...
Teehee...the way she's laying here she looks like a lil' froggy! :P

Well, that's all for now! I hope you enjoyed, and hopefully there will be more to come soon! :)

Jayleigh with Family

I am not very good at keeping up with this blog! :P I know a lot of y'all are wanting to see pictures of Jayleigh, so I apologize for not getting to this sooner. I have a lot of pictures of Jayleigh with family that I've been wanting to post, so without further ado...

Darron's Family...

Grandpa Brant & Grandma Joyce deBoer with Jayleigh

I think Grandpa Brant might like her...what do you think? ;)
Uncle Derek & Aunt Justine with Jayleigh
Cousin Grace deBoer with Jayleigh ... she just loves the baby! :)
Grandma Joyce is smitten with her two little granddaughters! :)

Jayleigh's first week home we had a visit from our cousins on my mom's side: Beth Faber and her girls Zoey & Claire, her sister-in-law Kalee Bengtson & her son Logan, and Becky Bengtson (Mom's double cousin). With all those kiddos, it was chaos for awhile, but so much fun! And yes, those little ones showed this new mommy what all we need to child proof before Jayleigh gets bigger :) ...
Becky Bengtson with her 3 grandchildren and my mom (Dorothy Priest) with Jayleigh...can you tell how excited these 2 are to be with their grandchildren? I don't think they ever stopped smiling! :P
Kalee Bengtson & Logan, Beth Faber & Zoey & Claire, Me and Jayleigh
Beth & I were both pregnant at the same time with these two little munchkins! :)

So some of you might know that our friends Courtney & Nick Becker (who were also in Derek & Justine's wedding) were expecting a little boy 2 days after we were due. Well we both went beyond our due dates and had scheduled inductions, but funny story...Derek and Justine came to visit and we all went to the Louisberg Cider Mill for some cider and donuts. It must have been something in the cider, because the very next day both Courtney and I went into labor! And thank goodness because we didn't want to be induced! Bramlage John was born 51 minutes before Jayleigh Mae at the same hospital, and 1 pound heavier at 8.13! Joyce and Brant were so excited...
Courtney and I went to a breastfeeding support group together right before Halloween and they had a little photo shoot set up, so here are the babies at 3 weeks and 1 day...
Here Jayleigh was 8 lbs 2 oz and I believe Bram was about 11 lbs

Angela's Family...

Cousin Elizabeth Westerman with Jayleigh
Mammaw (Dorothy Priest) with Jayleigh

Well, I'm sure most of you know by now...we had our baby! Yes, it's been a couple of weeks...a couple of crazy weeks, so sorry about the delay with this post! It won't be a long one, as Little Miss is starting to wake up from her nap...but I wanted to get a few pics up since so many have requested them! I do also have announcements we'll be sending out...someday. Hopefully before she graduates high school. :P
